Exams 2013

by Nadine Armiger

Due to enormously hard work by myself and the dancers, this year's overall results were the best yet! My first dancers entered exams in 2009, and I think I might be starting to get the hang of it . .

Mrs McGlinchy was a wonderful examiner, very kind and helpful to all the candidates. The dancers loved her.

It was my first year with a boy dancer entering for exams, and my first year as an 'exam mum' . It is EXTRA nerve-racking doing the music for an exam when your own child is dancing!

Well done everyone for all your hard work - let's do it all again next year!  ;)

NZAMD Teachers' Workshop - Rosettes

by Nadine Armiger

Sunday 27 January at TAPAC.

This was so much fun! It was great to FINALLY meet Claire Patten after years of phone calls and emails - she took us through the ballet syllabus and she is a complete hoot! Deborah Hale took us through the tap syllabus - she's examined my students before and is used to me and all my questions . . Gotta say, I just LOVED the tap syllabus. Loved it! And then the fabulous Nicola Madden took us through the jazz syllabus - she has the most amazing fancy ballet-teacher shoes and white jazz shoes. Plus she is an awesome teacher! (Notice I am drawing a veil over the hip-hop work. I try my best, but it's not an area of strength for me, alas . . )
